Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about solar energy
Solar panels convert sunlight into electricity through photovoltaic cells. The DC electricity generated is converted to AC by the inverter, which can then power your home or business. Excess electricity can be fed back to the grid through net metering.
Net metering is a billing mechanism where excess solar electricity generated is fed back to the grid, and you receive credits on your electricity bill. During periods when your system doesn't generate enough power (night, cloudy days), you draw from the grid using these credits.
Standard on-grid solar systems automatically shut down during power cuts for safety reasons. If you want backup power during outages, you can opt for a hybrid system with battery storage.
Quality solar panels have a lifespan of 25-30 years. They come with a 25-year performance warranty, guaranteeing at least 80% efficiency after 25 years. With proper maintenance, they can continue generating electricity beyond 30 years.
